For the first time in its 18 series history, the nation’s favourite talent show, Britain’s Got Talent, is introducing a brand new twist to the live semi-finals – the Golden Buzzer!

In a show first, the iconic buzzer will now appear during the live rounds, giving one judge or Ant & Dec the power to send an act straight through to the grand finale each week.

Britain’s Got Talent will be more entertaining than ever before, not only with the addition of the Golden Buzzer for the live shows, but the semi-finals will now air live every Saturday night, claiming the weekends as the home of BGT. Be prepared for unpredictable, unmissable and unbeatable event television.

In each of the five live semi-final rounds, either one judge or Ant & Dec will be appointed control of the new Golden Buzzer. As soon as they see a performance worthy of a place in the final, they will have just one opportunity to press it.

Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli as well as presenters Ant & Dec, will have just moments after each performance to make a decision which could change the course of an act’s BGT journey, making them one huge step closer to securing the £250,000 cash prize and a spot on the bill of the Royal Variety Performance.

The eight acts that will be competing each night will put on the show of their lives, as they fight for that Golden Buzzer to be pressed, taking them straight to the final. The public will then vote for their winning act of the night, who will gain a place in the live final.

Performing on the next semi-final are:

Hear Our Voice, Singer

Idolls, Dancers

Joseph Charm, Comedian

Max Fox, Singer

Maya Giotea, Singer

Obsequious, Dancers

Papi, Variety

TK Magic, Magician

Opening the semi-final this week will be the incredible cast of ‘COME ALIVE!’ The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular featuring all the hit songs from the blockbuster movie. This awe-inspiring live show is now playing an extended world premiere season in London's Earls Court.

The second guest performance this week will be from the cast of Oliver!, who will be providing a taste of what to expect from their new, acclaimed production at London’s Gielgud Theatre. With Lionel Bart’s unforgettable score including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself and Oom Pah Pah, this exclusive teaser will leave audiences asking for more.

A Britain's Got Talent spokesperson: "After discussions with Teddy’s parents and the production team, it has been jointly agreed that Teddy won’t perform in this year’s semi-finals, but BGT hopes to see Teddy again in a future series."

Teddy’s family added (via The Sun): "We want to thank everyone who has supported Teddy and cheered him on – he continues to fill our world with magic."

The semi-finals take place at the Eventim Apollo in London. Viewers can watch all the unmissable action take place exclusively on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
