THE BIG SOAP QUIZ RETURNS TO ITV THIS CHRISTMAS

The annual TV quiz between ITV's biggest soaps will be returning this year, TV Zone understands. It comes as ITV reveals its programming highlights for the festive season.

The quiz, hosted by Stephen Mulhern, puts the stars of Coronation Street and Emmerdale to the test, as they are grilled on the most memorable soap moments of 2023.

Regular team captains are Jack P. Shepherd and Mark Charnock for Coronation Street and Emmerdale respectively. Previous co-stars to take part include Simon Gregson and Sair Khan, plus Karen Blick and Jay Kontzle.

It follows the recent announcement by ITV that the British Soap Awards will not take place in 2024. The broadcast says the plan for the ceremony to return to screens in 2025 after a one year break.

The British Soap Awards sees the five biggest soaps - Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks - will be battling it out to win recognition for their work over the past year.

An ITV spokesperson told RadioTimes: "The British Soap Awards won't be on air in 2024 but is set to return in 2025."
