BGT TO 'RETURN WITH LIVE AUDIENCE IN 2022' AS ALL FOUR JUDGES RETURN

The Sun reports that plans are in place to film the next series' auditions in theatres, with a full audience.

The Sun also report that Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams will all return to the judging panel. Ant & Dec will, of course, return as the hosts.

In January, ITV announced that the 2021 series had been cancelled due to a fresh lockdown imposed by the Government.

In January, ITV said: "Despite everyone at ITV, Thames and Syco doing their best to make it happen, and with our absolute priority of safeguarding the wellbeing and health of every person involved in the programme from judges, hosts and contestants to all of the crew and audience, the decision has been made to, unfortunately, move the record and broadcast of the 15th series of Britain’s Got Talent to 2022...

They continued: "BGT is known for its diversity of talent with big dance groups, wonderful choirs and lavish orchestras at its heart, and it has become clear that not only is it not possible to film auditions with these types of acts in a secure way but also that they are not able to adequately rehearse and prepare safely."

A source told The Sun: "Though ITV have always said BGT would be back in 2022, a question mark has lingered over whether it would come back in its original form...

"Those fears were fuelled by other big shows still having to make radical changes due to Covid restrictions. Even I’m A Celebrity is having to stay in North Wales for a second year because of the virus’s impact – and that’s a situation which nobody could have predicted."

Britain's Got Talent returns next year on ITV.
