BBC BREAKFAST AND NEWS AT ONE COULD BE EXTENDED UNDER NEW PLANS

The BBC are discussing plans which would see BBC Breakfast extended and BBC News At One also extended, and possible move to Salford, TV Zone understands.

As part of their 'across the UK strategy', the BBC are in discussions about whether to extend BBC Breakfast each morning, and BBC News At One each afternoon. News At One could also join BBC Breakfast in Salford.

TV Zone understands that none of the proposed changes, if agreed, will be made this year and that Morning Live will not be affected beyond possibly starting later in the morning.

ITV made similar changes to their schedule in 2019 and 2022 respectively, extending Good Morning Britain to 9am and the ITV Evening News to a whole hour, which has proven a success for the broadcast.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
