It comes as former BBC Four series Digging for Britain is renewed for two new series on BBC Two.
Digging For Britain sees Professor Alice Roberts follow a year of British archaeology, joining up the results of digs and investigations the length of the country.
The BBC revealed in their Annual Plan that BBC4 will be winding down its commissions and instead moving towards an archive and repeat-led channel. Its traditional genre of arts programming will be moving to BBC Two.
