BBC PAUSE PRODUCTION ON 'STILL OPEN ALL HOURS' (UPDATED)

BBC insist 'discussions on future episodes are ongoing'

A show insider told the Daily Star On Sunday: "It’s been an integral part of the BBC’s comedy output for a while. But sadly the show won’t be back. It has run its course and it is time to call it a day. At a time when the BBC is under so much scrutiny, bosses have to be careful about where they are spending money."

UPDATED: A spokesperson for the BBC said: "There is no truth in this and discussions on future episodes are ongoing. However, the safety and wellbeing of all those involved in Still Open All Hours is our number one priority, and we have been unable to film this year due to covid-19."
