GORDON RAMSAY'S BANK BALANCE 'AXED' BY BBC ONE

Gordon Ramsay's big money game show will not return for a second series, it is reported.

Bank Balance was a high-stakes, high-pressure game show where contestants test their poise, precision, knowledge and nerve to succeed to build themselves a fortune - or see it come crashing down in an instant. The opening episode attracted an overnight audience of 2.7m, which then fell as low as 1.5m for its closing week.

A BBC spokesperson said: "There are no current plans for another series of Bank Balance."

A spokesperson for Gordon Ramsay said: "We are playing Covid catch-up on US contractual obligations in 2022. That’s not to say he won’t bring it back to the UK sometime in the future."

Gordon will return to the BBC however, with a brand new cookery competition Future Food Stars. The new eight-part competition series aims to hunt down the UK’s most exciting and innovative new food and drink entrepreneurs. More details will be revealed in due course.

All episodes of Gordon Ramsay's Bank Balance are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
