BANGERS: MAD FOR CARS AXED BY CHANNEL 4 AFTER ONE SERIES

Channel 4 have axed motoring series Bangers: Mad For Cars after one series, The Sun reports.

The series, which aired last year, was presented by Tinie and F1 analyst and stunt driver Naomi Schiff as they look at the cars from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s making a comeback.

Each week they looked at a different category: hatchbacks, sports cars, 4 x 4’s and family cars. Naomi and Tinie went head-to-head in the ‘Battle of the Bangers’ to decide which is the best in class.

With the help of car lovers all over the UK, they delved into the performance, history, culture and iconography of each car – before the final challenge to decide which comes out on top.

A source told The Sun: "It’s so tough for car shows right now, especially on mainstream channels. Bangers: Mad For Cars was always viewed within Channel 4 as a one-off. But if it went down a storm with viewers. A second series would likely have been on the table. But sadly it’s not to be and the show’s being parked, and may never restart."

Bangers: Mad For Cars is available on Channel 4.
