BANGED UP: MORE CELEBRITIES GO BEHIND BARS FOR CHANNEL 4 SERIES

Channel 4 have reportedly commissioned a second series of reality format Banged Up, which sees a group of celebrities experience the life of a prisoner.

The well-known inmates will be incarcerated with a variety of real ex-criminals, including those who have served long sentences for serious crimes - although all are now reformed and have agreed to re-enter prison for this series.

The well-known inmates will have the opportunity to interrogate their cellmates on their prison experiences and former crimes - as well as examine the impact of the system on them – for better or worse.

Run by a former prison governor, with 20 years’ experience in some of the UK’s toughest prisons, and former prison officers, the inmates will live by current UK prison rules.

The first series saw Eastenders actor Sid Owen, comedian and actor Tom Rosenthal, Gogglebox star Marcus Luther, singer HRVY, Mail on Sunday columnist Peter Hitchens and former MP Neil Parish participating.

The Sun reports that filming will take place in September with Nigel Farage the producers' favourite to sign-up. A source told the publication: "Nigel isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but he’s great for ratings. He did surprisingly well in the jungle and is keen to do more reality TV. Producers are hoping to get a deal over the line with him soon."

Series 1 of Banged Up is available on Channel 4 now.
