Casting has reportedly been revealed for new BBC factual drama on the story of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a British-Iranian citizen who was detained in Iran for six years, and her husband Richard Ratcliffe who campaigned tirelessly for her return.

The factual drama is based on a forthcoming book, A Yard of Sky, written by Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Richard Ratcliffe. It will be made by Fremantle-backed Dancing Ledge Productions (The Salisbury Poisonings) for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
The 4x60 series covers the period from the day Nazanin was arrested at the airport in Tehran to her release and return to the UK six years later. The Sun newspaper reports that Nazanin will be played by Narges Rashidi, with Joseph Fiennes taking on the role of husband Richard.
A BBC spokesperson said last year at the time of the series announcement: “Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Richard Ratcliffe’s extraordinary experiences captured everyone’s hearts; their journey is one of despair, courage and hope, spanning two countries and six years, and ultimately, it’s a story of how this family, who were forced apart by international events, were finally reunited.”
More details will be announced in due course.
