LEIGH FRANCIS TO REVIVE AVID MERRION FOR SKETCH SHOW PILOT

Leigh Francis (aka Keith Lemon) has shot a pilot reviving his classic character Avid Merrion.

The celebrity stalker character - which has not been seen for 12 years - is the main character in a new sketch show fronted by Leigh Francis which shot a pilot last month, British Comedy Guide has revealed.

Leigh Francis was spotted filming in character in Amersham in Buckinghamshire last month. The show, currently titled 'Avid', is directed by Dan Johnston and produced Great Scott Media.

Leigh told The Sun: "Avid Merrion is wandering around somewhere. He’s a bit different though, he’s grown up. The Bear was in the pilot too. I don’t know if he’ll stick around, it’s all in the hands of the TV gods."
