70 UP: DOCUMENTARY SERIES SET TO RETURN TO ITV IN 2026 FOR TENTH FILM

The acclaimed 7 Up documentary series will return to ITV1 and ITVX in 2026 with its tenth film, 70 Up.

The award-winning documentary project started in 1964 and followed a group of individuals every seven years with director Michael Apted revisiting them every 7 years to see how they have progressed through life since he first me them as children in the 60s.

The most recent series - 63 Up - was broadcast on ITV in 2019. Two years later, in January 2021, Apted died. Whilst ITV have not yet announced the commission or who will take over as director, TV Zone understands production commenced last month on the new series.
