YOUR SONG 'SET TO BE AXED' BY CHANNEL 4 AFTER ONE SERIES

Channel 4 are reportedly set to axe entertainment format Your Song after one series due to poor ratings, The Sun suggest.

A source told the tabloid: "Officially no decision has been taken on the future of the show, but behind the scenes, those involved in the programme are talking about it not making it to a second series. Tough decisions are being made about the cost of making a show compared to the ratings it enjoys and Your Song’s viewing figures didn’t quite match up to the cost of the project."

Your Song celebrated the nation’s hidden voices by giving non-professional singers the chance to perform a song that holds deep personal meaning to them. From love ballads passed down through generations to anthems that lifted spirits in difficult times, these powerful performances will take place on a pop-up stage equipped with a live house band.

Hidden from the singers during their performances, Paloma Faith and Sam Ryder will emerge to offer their expertise and heartfelt reactions. Alongside the mentors, host Alison Hammond will bring her trademark compassion, humour, and unique ability to connect with our singers – encouraging them to open up and tell their story.
