Argentina vs Saudi Arabia

Denmark vs Tunisia

1pm - ITV

Mark Pougatch presents coverage of the opening fixture of Group D, which takes place at Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar. This is the first competitive meeting between the two teams, with the only other meeting coming in a friendly in May 2002 when the European side won 2-1.

Mexico vs Poland

4pm - BBC

Gabby Logan introduces coverage of the Group C clash between Mexico and Poland, live from Stadium 974 in Doha. Commentary comes from Pien Meulensteen and Martin Keown.


Mexico have a formidable record in the group stage of the World Cup, defeating France in 2010, Croatia in 2014 and Germany in 2018. ‘El Tri’ have suffered seven consecutive exits at the last 16 stage and will be desperate to go one better by reaching the quarter-finals in Qatar.



France vs Australia

7pm - BBC

Presented by Gary Lineker, Reigning champions France begin the defence of their crown by taking on Group C rivals Australia at Qatar’s Al Janoub Stadium. Commentary comes from Jonathan Pearce and Danny Murphy.


It’s a repeat of France’s opening game at the 2018 tournament, when a late own goal gave Les Bleus a 2-1 victory.



The Socceroos have lost five of their last six World Cup matches but demonstrated their formidable team spirit in a qualifying play-off, booking their place in Qatar courtesy of a thrilling penalty shoot-out win against Peru.
