VAN DER VALK: ITV CONFIRMS FOURTH SERIES WILL AIR IN 2026, NEARLY THREE YEARS SINCE PREVIOUS SERIES AS FIRST LOOK IMAGES RELEASED

ITV have confirmed the fourth series of Van Der Valk will air on ITV1 and ITVX in 2026, nearly three years since the last series aired in the UK and two years since the fourth series itself was released internationally. If you just can't wait for 2026, the fourth series will be available to purchase on DVD from 9th December in the UK.

The fast-paced police procedural that explores Amsterdam’s cultural contrasts, with Marc Warren in the lead role of Piet Van der Valk. The cast also includes Maimie McCoy (All Creatures Great and Small, Wallander) as Van der Valk’s right-hand woman, Lucienne Hassell..

Plus Emma Fielding (Les Misérables, Sanditon) as Van der Valk’s incorruptible but indulgent boss, Julia Dahlman; Darrell D’Silva (Game of Thrones) as the team’s hard-living, virtuoso pathologist, Hendrik Davie; Azan Ahmed (Hope Street) as impulsive Eddie Suleman, and Kim Riedle as police personal protection officer Kalie Tenkers.

In Van der Valk Season 4, Van der Valk and his team return to investigate new crimes in Amsterdam. In addition to solving murder cases, Van der Valk has to deal with a past romance resurfacing as well as find a way to make one of his beloved team members confront their own mortality.

Episode 1: After a whistleblower is murdered under police protection, the team are called in to make sure the second whistleblower makes it to court to testify and take down a criminal empire. Van der Valk is conflicted when he finds out the protection officer in charge of the murdered whistleblower is a former flame of his.

Episode 2: The team are called in when an environmental campaigner is murdered on the eve of a global conference. One of several potential suspects would appear to be Cobie Stegenga, a famous singer who went missing, presumed dead. Van Der Valk connects with Cobie’s father to find out the truth.

Episode 3: Van der Valk and the team are called in when a scientist researching a potential breakthrough in the treatment of cancer is found dead. Van der Valk’s ex-flame Kalie Tenkers returns to help the team investigate why he was killed and if there is a link is to pharmaceuticals billionaire Freddie Klink.
