ULTIMATE WEDDING PLANNER: COMPETITION AXED BY BBC AFTER ONE SERIES

 EXCLUSIVE

The BBC have axed competition format Ultimate Wedding Planner after one series, which aired last Summer on BBC Two. Applications for a 'potential' second series closed earlier this year.

Ultimate Wedding Planner saw eight wedding planners battle it out to prove they are Britain’s next best wedding expert as they design spectacular ceremonies for six couples. Over the series the planners were whittled down until one was crowned the winner.

Judging and mentoring the planners as they aim to create dream wedding for contributing couples were Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies, First Dates favourite Fred Sirieix and wedding industry expert Raj Somaiya.

A BBC spokesperson told TV Zone: "At present, there are no plans for a second series."

Series 1 of Ultimate Wedding Planner is available now on BBC iPlayer.
