BBC Four and iPlayer are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the landmark drama This Life, inviting viewers to revisit a series that captured the spirit of a generation and left a lasting mark on British television.

First broadcast in 1996, This Life followed a group of young lawyers sharing a house in south London as they navigated friendship, ambition and the complexities of their twenties.
Created by Amy Jenkins, the series featured a cast including Daniela Nardini, Andrew Lincoln, Jack Davenport, Amita Dhiri and Jason Hughes, whose fresh, raw and unfiltered performances helped establish the drama as a cultural touchstone and one of the defining series of the decade. Three decades on, its characters, energy and unapologetic honesty remain central to the cultural memory of the 1990s.
On Wednesday 18 March, 30 years to the day since its debut, Daniela Nardini will introduce the start of a repeat run of series one on BBC Four at 10pm with both series 1 and 2 and the +10 year reunion special all available on iPlayer from 6am the same day.
