THIS CLOSE: COMEDY DRAMA ACQUIRED BY ITV, SERIES TO LAND ON ITVX THIS MARCH

ITV announces the UK acquisition of the critically acclaimed drama This Close, which will stream exclusively on ITVX from 12 March.

Created by and starring Shoshannah Stern and Josh Feldman, This Close is widely recognised as a landmark in television representation, with the first series created, written by and starring Deaf creators. Across its full two-season run, the drama offers a warm, intimate and often funny portrait of best friends Kate and Michael, both Deaf, as they navigate relationships, work, love, identity and independence in modern-day Los Angeles.

Told with emotional honesty and quiet humour, the series explores the complexities of communication, friendship and adulthood, while placing authentic Deaf experience at its heart. With both creators also appearing on screen, the storytelling is deeply personal, nuanced and grounded in lived experience. The series was praised on its original release for its originality, sensitivity and for opening up new space for underrepresented voices on television.

The series is produced by Super Deluxe in association with Killer Films for Sundance Now / SundanceTV and distributed internationally by AMC Networks International.
