THE WINDSORS: FOURTH SERIES OF CHANNEL 4 COMEDY 'ON HOLD' AFTER KING'S CANCER DIAGNOSIS

Channel 4 have postponed the production on the fourth series of hit comedy The Windsors indefinitely, following recent health concerns for The King and Princess Of Wales.

Private Eye magazine reports that Channel 4 controller Ian Katz had 'quietly cancelled the fourth series'. A Channel 4 spokesperson told British Comedy Guide: "Production on the new series of The Windsors has been put on hold until further notice."

The satirical comedy soap opera lampooning the lives of the royal family returned for an extended Coronation Special last year on Channel 4, with the broadcaster also commissioning a fourth series.

The first series of The Windsors in 2016 was the highest rating comedy series launch on Channel 4 since 2014, with cast including Harry Enfield (Prince Charles), Haydn Gwynne (Camilla), Louise Ford (Kate), Hugh Skinner (Wills), Richard Goulding (Harry), Katy Wix, (Fergie), Tim Wallers (Prince Andrew) and Matthew Cottle (Prince Edward).

Previous series of The Windsors are available to stream on Channel 4.
