THE TRAITORS: BBC THREE ACQUIRES AUSTRALIAN VERSION OF HIT FORMAT

The BBC have acquired the Australian version of hit reality format The Traitors, which is hosted by Rodger Corser. It follows the success of the UK series last year and the acquisition of The Traitors USA for BBC Three.

Contestants in the game move into a majestic castle and work as a team to complete a series of dramatic and challenging missions to earn money for the prize pot. But three of the contestants are secretly traitors, who will attempt to deceive and manipulate their way to the prize by eliminating ‘loyal’ contestants.

A 'BBC source' told The Sun: "The Traitors is an addictively fiendish format and I am so pleased that viewers can get their summer fix of treachery and suspicion as we head Down Under for the Australian version of the show on BBC Three and iPlayer."

In the UK, The Traitors was the biggest new series for young audiences across all BBC titles last year, and the highest rating new entertainment series on the BBC since at least 2017 for young audiences.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, The Traitors is a nail-biting psychological reality competition where 22 strangers play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning up to £120,000.

The Traitors Australia will air this Summer on BBC Three and iPlayer.
