THE PIANO RENEWED FOR FOURTH SERIES ON CHANNEL 4 FOLLOWING CONTINUED SUCCESS

Following its continued success, the Daily Star have revealed The Piano will return for a fourth series on Channel 4 next year, with Claudia Winkleman returning to host alongside judges Mika and Jon Batiste.

The new series will see the trio travel to iconic UK railway stations to give gifted amateur pianists the chance to showcase their prowess on public pianos up and down the country.

From nonagenarians who have been playing for eighty years to twelve-year-olds who have never played in pubic before, those who taught themselves to play the classics in lockdown to players who feel the music, composing pieces about their life experiences and someone with no sight who against all the odds has mastered Chopin, commuters in train stations across the country will be stopped in their tracks as heartfelt, emotional and uplifting performances take place.

However, what the piano performers don’t know is that two of the most acclaimed and successful performers in the world will be secretly watching and one performer will be given a once in a lifetime offer by them, an invitation to perform on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.

Meanwhile, Channel 4 have commissioned Your Song (w/t) from the makers of The Piano. Presented by Alison Hammond, Your Song is about everyday people, who, driven by their love and connection to a particular song, will step up to the stage and share their story with the world. Whether their track helped them through heartbreak, became their anthem of triumph, or reminds them who they are, Your Song is exactly that…. Your’s. 

Alison Hammond will bring her trademark compassion, humour, and unique ability to connect with our singers – encouraging them to open up and tell their story. With its signature pop-up stage, Your Song will travel into the bustling heart of some of the UK's most vibrant towns and cities, offering amateur singers the chance to perform in front of a packed crowd – often for the very first time.
