THE KUMARS SET TO RETURN, NEW EPISODE RECORDING NEXT MONTH

A brand new episode of Meet The Kumars is to be recorded next month, starring Sanjeev Bhaskar, Meera Syal, Vincent Ebrahim and Shaheen Khan, with some special celebrity guests.

It has been revealed via Deadline that this is a pilot recording for American network FOX. No UK broadcaster is attached to the project.

The Kumars began as a BBC series title The Kumars At No.42 and followed a British Indian family living in London who support their eldest Son's (Sanjeev Bhaskar) dream of having his own TV chat show by building a TV show in their back garden.

After more than 50 episodes on BBC Two and later BBC One, the series was revived as 'Meet The Kumars' by Sky One in 2014. The series ran for six episodes with guests including Daniel Radcliffe, Kay Burley, Emelia Fox and James Corden.

A teaser shares: "We all remember the Kumars and their only son Sanjeev’s dreams of being a famous chat show host. How his obliging parents bulldozed the garden at their modest family home to build him a TV studio and make his dreams come true, whilst also (along with his unconventional grandmother) insisting on embarrassing him in front of every guest...

"Yet over the years, the great and the good from the worlds of stage, screen and sport flocked to be on The Kumars’ show. And now, the mischievous family has returned! A little older, more experienced but none the wiser."

The new episode of Meet The Kumars will be recorded on Wednesday 13th March at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood. Applications for tickets are now open and are available for free via SRO Audiences.

More details will be announced in due course.
