ANIMATED COMEDY THE GOLDEN COBRA RETURNS TO BBC THREE FOR SECOND SERIES

Following an award-winning first series, which won two BAFTA Cymru awards (Best Entertainment Programme, Breakthrough Award), as well as the RTS Cymru Award for Comedy, Valleys-born writers Adam Llewellyn (also Director and Lead Animator), James Prygodzicz and Thomas Rees return with 12 new episodes of the offbeat, animated comedy The Golden Cobra, arriving on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three from Saturday 26 September.

In the second series we return to Ebbw Vale and with Ernish, owner of rival curry house The Gulshmahal, now safely behind bars, Basil starts to enjoy the fruits of success and is finally running the number one (and only) curry house in town. Although life should be easier, things quickly become much more complicated.

Audiences will be reunited with familiar favourites from the first series, alongside a host of brand-new and equally bizarre characters. Special guest voices include Diane Morgan (Ann Droid, Mandy, Motherland, Cunk), cult filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger, Class of Nuke ’Em High), who also appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy, and even Adam Llewellyn’s own grandmother.

Set in and around Ebbw Vale and produced entirely in Wales, all 12 episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer from 26 September. Six episodes will also be available on BBC Three from the same date, with BBC One Wales broadcasts beginning on 2 October.

Fans can also enjoy some behind the scenes action with a special making-of documentary, The Golden Cobra – Behind the Scenes. Uniquely documenting key stages in the production process, get to know the talented team of creators behind the show, as well as some of the people and places which inspire their comedy.
