TEMPTING FORTUNE: ROB BECKETT ANNOUNCED AS NEW HOST OF CHANNEL 4 REALITY COMPETITION FORMAT

Comedian Rob Beckett has been announced as the new host of Channel 4 reality competition format Tempting Fortune when the show returns for its third series.

Earlier this year Paddy McGuinness announced he is stepping down as host of the Channel 4 reality competition after two series due to other commitments. A spokesperson for Channel 4 said: "Paddy has been a brilliant host of Tempting Fortune, bringing his trademark humour to both series. We’re grateful for everything he’s brought to the show, and we totally understand that the filming commitment overseas is a big one and he is unable join us for the next series."

Channel 4 commissioner Genna Gibson said: "Tempting Fortune has struck a real chord with UK audiences, blending adventure and psychological tension in a fresh, compelling way. We’re excited to raise the stakes again for series three and viewers can expect more of the emotional highs and lows, fiery debates and fractured alliances that have made Tempting Fortune a breakout reality phenomenon."

Rob Beckett added: "Everyone thinks they can resist temptation … until they’re hot and filthy, and suddenly morals go out the window. I’m very happy to be hosting this show, especially from the comfort of a lovely crew hotel."

The series sees 12 complete strangers give up all luxuries in the ultimate test of willpower, to endure a gruelling 18 day trek across the Malaysian wilderness with only basic survival gear as they attempt to reach a £300,000 prize at the finish line.

However, the twist is that along the way, they can choose to spend some of that prize money on a series of ‘temptations’ that will be sure to get their hearts racing but come at the world’s highest prices.

But, even if just one person opts to take a temptation, the prize fund will go down and everyone else will end up paying for it. How much will they be left with in the end and will this bunch of Fortune Seekers be able to overlook the temptations, or will they spend all the prize money?

In each episode, the Fortune Seekers will be tempted by a series of ‘temptations’, all appearing when they need them most. This year, the temptations are bigger and even more irresistible than ever before.
