SYDNIE CHRISTMAS: BGT WINNER 'IN TALKS' FOR CHRISTMAS SPECIAL ON ITV

Britain's Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas is reportedly in talks for her own - aptly named - musical Christmas special on ITV later this year.

A source told The Sun: "Sydnie could become ITV’s very own Mariah Carey. Her team have been in talks with top execs about making a show for Christmas Day, like an old school variety special. Her name obviously lends itself to Christmas so it would be a blockbuster festive spectacular."

Before then, Christmas will appear on the 2024 Royal Variety Performance. It will be hosted by the Britain's Got Talent judge who gave her the golden buzzer, Amanda Holden, alongside friend and comedian Alan Carr and broadcast later this year on ITV1 and ITVX.

This annual event will be a spectacular evening featuring international stars, world class theatre, sensational singers and hilarious comedy. The event is staged in aid of the Royal Variety Charity. The money raised from the show helps those people from the world of entertainment in need of care and assistance.

When Britain's Got Talent returns next year, it's expected to take on a new format which will see the series start earlier in the year to fill the gap left by Ant & Dec ending Saturday Night Takeaway. The changes would also mean the live semi-finals airing weekly rather than stripped across a week.

Britain's Got Talent airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
