Multi-award-winning hit comedy Such Brave Girls is back for a third series and pinky promises to be genuinely uplifting. Josie (Kat Sadler), her sister Billie (Lizzie Davidson) and their mother Deb (Louise Brealey) are finally happy. They didn’t need men and the magic was in them all along.

Pass the tissues! Just kidding, things are set to get worse for the family at the heart of the BBC’s feel-bad sitcom. Kat Sadler says: “An honour and a shock that the BBC would willingly let us rancid little worms back into the building. I promise I will make them regret this decision.”

The series launched in 2023 to huge critical acclaim for its fearless writing and unapologetic dark humour exploring love in all its ugly chaos. It won best scripted comedy alongside Emerging Talent: Fiction for Kat Sadler at the 2024 BAFTA Television Awards.

Jon Petrie, BBC Director of Comedy Commissioning says: “After a breakout debut and multiple award wins, we’re chuffed that the brilliant Kat Sadler’s fearless comedy is back for a third series. This one promises to bring even more turmoil from a family who make dysfunction look effortless.”

Jack Bayles, executive producer, VAL says: “Well done to the BBC for spotting that Such Brave Girls is in fact a vital public service.  A tremendous hit of schadenfreude for these trying times – the kind that only Kat Sadler can deliver.”

Such Brave Girls (6x30’) is a VAL production in association with A24 for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three and Hulu in the US.
