SAM THOMPSON AND PETE WICKS RETURN AS NATIONAL TELEVISION AWARDS RED CARPET PRESENTERS

The National Television Awards have today confirmed that Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks are officially returning to host the 2026 NTA Red Carpet, bringing their trademark humour, chemistry and unpredictability to TV's biggest night.

The fan-favourite duo will take over the NTA Red Carpet for the third year running at The O2 London on Tuesday 8 September, fronting all NTA official content for its social channels as well as behind the scenes footage for the NTA YouTube channel. NTA ticket holders will also be able to watch Sam and Pete’s exclusive interviews with the UK’s best-loved stars stream live in the auditorium. 

Commenting on the news, Sam said: "There's nothing better than getting to do this with one of your best mates. We genuinely love what we do, and being part of the NTAs is always such a privilege. We can't wait to meet this year's nominees, soak up the atmosphere and share all the excitement with viewers."

Pete added: “It’s a hat trick! Three years in a row and we couldn't be happier to be back. The NTAs is always one of the highlights of the year - the atmosphere is unlike anything else and you never know what's going to happen on that red carpet."

With hundreds of stars set to walk the iconic NTA Red Carpet, expect the unexpected and plenty of joyful, unforgettable moments. After all, when Sam and Pete are in charge... absolutely anything can happen.

This year’s NTA ceremony will broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX on 8th September 2026 from The O2 London.
