ROB BECKETT AND JOE SUGG PILOT NEW SATURDAY NIGHT GAMESHOW FORMAT

Joe Sugg has revealed he recently piloted a new gameshow format for Saturday nights. The format was developed by his production company Final Straw productions.

Comedian Rob Beckett was main presenter for the non-TX run through, with Joe Sugg "last minute" becoming Beckett's co-presenter. Sugg compared his role to that of Richard Osman on Pointless.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Sugg revealed the format - which has not been commissioned for a full series - involved 'zooming images' and 'going on a wild adventure through different images'. The former Strictly star did not reveal any further details about the format, but added he was looking for other ways to bring the format to life.

In 2024, Sugg partnered with BBC Studios to pilot a new digital dating show, which was hosted by TikTok star and podcaster Max Balegde. The idea behind the show was for singles to show off their good bits and their icky bits on the first date - why wait for 6 months to find out you’re not suited when you could find out now and save time?

Meanwhile, Beckett was recently announced as the new host of Channel 4 reality competition Tempting Fortune after its previous host Paddy McGuinness stepped down from the show last year.12 new fortune seekers face more enticing temptations, harsher terrain and even higher stakes in this hilarious high-stakes adventure show. 

Following two hugely successful series, the popular show will once again challenge a brand-new group of contestants to trek through the Malaysian jungle armed with nothing but basic supplies and their own willpower. 

Starting with a pot of £300,000, the group must decide if they want to save the pot so it can be won at the end of the journey,  or spend it on the little luxuries that appear during their arduous and exhausting trek. Every time a contestant caves to comfort, be it a hot meal, a soft bed or a personal phone call home, this pot, which is the group prize fund takes a hit.
