RICHARD OSMAN'S WE SOLVE MURDERS TO BE ADAPTED INTO NETFLIX DRAMA SERIES

Netflix are developing a drama adaptation of Richard Osman's book series We Solve Murders, following the success of the film adaptation of Osman's debut novel The Thursday Murder Club last year.

The synopsis for We Solve Murders reads: "Steve Wheeler is enjoying retired life. He still does the odd bit of investigation work, but he prefers the pub quiz and afternoons at home with his cat Trouble. His days of adventure are over – that’s his daughter-in-law Amy’s business now.

Amy Wheeler thinks adrenaline is good for the soul, which makes being a private security officer to billionaires the perfect job. She’s currently on a remote island keeping world-famous author Rosie D’Antonio alive. Then a dead body, a bag of money and a killer with their sights on Amy have her sending Steve an SOS... As a breakneck race around the world begins, can they stay one step ahead of a deadly enemy?"

The Thursday Murder Club story follows a group of friends in a retirement home who gather to solve murders for fun, but find themselves caught in a real case.

The four members of the club were played by Helen Mirren (ex-spy Elizabeth), Sir Ben Kingsley (ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim) Pierce Brosnan (former union activist Ron) and Celia Imrie (ex-nurse Joyce).

Guest starring were in the film were Richard E Grant, David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Geoff Bell, Paul Freeman, Sarah Niles and Ingrid Oliver.

The Thursday Murder Club is available now on Netflix.
