Random Rewind: we look back at some the best, and occasionally worst, entertainment shows from the past decade.
Newzoids
2015, ITV

Newzoids was satirical comedy current-affairs-based puppet show, similar to Spitting Image. It ran for two series, each with 6x30' episodes in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
Each puppet was voiced by an impressionist, including Jon Culshaw and Debra Stephenson. However, the physical puppets had no movable facial features - these were all added in the edit using CGI.
The puppets depicted real world people, from politicians (Boris Johnson, David Cameron) and celebrities (Alan Carr, Jeremy Clarkson), sports stars (Andy Murray) to TV characters (Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes), and the Royal family.
Newszoids aired on Wednesday nights in the 9pm slot.
