RATINGS REPORT: 25-31 AUGUST 2025, MOST WATCHED SHOWS REVEALED

The latest 7-day consolidated ratings for programmes shown or released for the last week have been released by BARB. The top-50 breakdown can be found on BARB's website here.

The film adaptation of Richard Osman's debut novel The Thursday Murder Club was the most watched title of the week by a margin of more than 2.3 million viewers. The Netflix film was watched by 6,583,000 within its first seven days of release, with new ITV drama I Fought The Law with Sheridan Smith in second place with 4,276,000.



Elsewhere in drama, the final episode of Ridley was watched by 3,571,000 in a later slot on Monday night, 2,489,000 and 2,609,000 watched the next two episodes of King & Conqueror, 2,514,000 watched UKTV original drama Annika on Saturday night, and just behind was Mrs Brown's Boys with 2,402,000.


BBC reality competition Destination X entered its final week with 3,488,000 and 3,551,000 for its seventh and eighth episodes respectively. Over on ITV was the final two episodes of their own reality series The Fortune Hotel, which consolidated below 2m which means exact figures are not available.



The Great British Sewing Bee was the biggest non-scripted show of the week with 4,241,000. On Saturday night, ITV launched a reimagined version of You Bet! with Stephen Mulhern, who took the show on the road. It was a disappointing start for ITV's main Saturday night offering this Autumn, consolidating to around 1.6m.


In soaps, Coronation Street topped the week on Friday night with 3,777,000. Emmerdale's most watched episode was also Friday night with 3,684,000, and EastEnders' was Wednesday evening's with 3,244,000. Casualty continued with 2,664,000 on Saturday night.
