The 1% Club | Series 5 Preview (ITV1)

Fresh from its win at the National Television Awards, The 1% Club will return to Saturday nights on ITV ahead of launching its Rollover series in December.

Imagine a game show where an eight-year-old has as much chance of winning as an 80-year-old or where intelligence isn’t based on how many exams you passed, but is all about how your brain works - The 1% Club is a unique, compelling and funny gameshow that tests the nation’s intelligence, based on a scientific survey.

This primetime entertainment format is not about what you learned at school or your ability to memorise facts – it’s about real intelligence and a chance to test your brain through a series of questions that often lead to extremely entertaining answers which sees host Lee Mack interacting with the contestants.

In December, ITV will launch The 1% Club: Rollover which turns the Saturday night version into a supersized five-day stripped, primetime event. Rollover enables the prize pot that’s not won on one show, to rollover to the next day’s show. If all the pots rollover, there could be an astonishing amount of up to £500,000 won.

The Rollover has another rule, anyone who gets as far as the 1% question automatically comes back to compete again. This means that if someone wins big on one show, they get to come back for the next day’s show where they could potentially win the Prize Pot again and in effect, double (or even treble or quadruple) their winnings.
