Motorway Cops: Catching Britain’s Speeders is back, buckling up with Humberside Police as they chase down dodgy drivers and put the most dangerous people on our roads behind bars.

Narrated by Nicky Campbell, cameras follow officers in the Roads Policing Unit as they patrol the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, including the busy urban areas of Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe. With Britain’s worst drivers racking up a whopping 3 million penalty points, dashcam is helping the cops battle the idiots behind the wheel and this series features some of most shocking driving around the UK.
Near Immingham Docks, the police get a call from a petrol station reporting a driver has refused to pay for fuel, got aggressive with staff and then wheel spun off. PC Billy Stead and Nathan Saltmer race to intercept the car. En route, more reports come in that the driver is high on magic mushrooms and isn’t letting a female passenger out of the car.
Multiple units flood the area and the car’s found in the docks. It doesn’t take Billy and Nathan long to spot it, but as they spin round to catch it up, the driver hits the gas, sparking a shocking pursuit through the docks. The driving becomes even more dangerous as it goes head on with HGVs, leaving Billy no choice but to ram the car to try and get it to stop.
On the A63 in Hull, PC Luke Thundercliffe has his eyes on a white van driver with his foot down. When he pulls it over, the driver says it’s a work van and he’s insured to drive it under work policy. The only problem is, the driver isn’t showing on the policy and to make matters worse, he doesn’t even have a full licence. Maybe the passenger, who’s also the business owner, can clear things up?
Unfortunately he can’t, as he claims he didn’t know the guy didn’t have a full licence. However, that's not the end of it, as Luke informs him that the van isn't taxed and doesn’t have an MOT – but at least they have pizza for the walk home.
PC Martin Leak is on patrol in Hull when he watches a car drive straight through a pedestrian crossing, almost hitting someone trying to cross. He quickly swings round and finds the car filling up with petrol, but when Martin speaks to the driver, it seems that the simplest questions are very taxing for him.
Motorway Cops: Catching Britain’s Speeders returns Monday 2nd February at 8pm on 5.
