Love Cheats | Series 2 Preview (Channel 4)

Channel 4 have commissioned a second series of hit factual strand Love Cheats.

The documentary series explores the jaw-dropping lies and deceit brought about by ‘romance fraud’, and the fight to bring these master manipulators to justice.

Episode 1: A global music icon falls for a wealthy businessman, and thinks she is living the dream when she falls pregnant. But his erratic behaviour and absences raise alarm bells, and a trip to New Zealand in search of answers uncovers a shocking truth that he has been living a triple life.

Episode 2: The case of a man who told his girlfriend his life had been a series of tragedies, from his sister's death from cancer to losing his father to a hereditary heart condition that he in turn had developed. However, when she lent him thousands of pounds, he suddenly disappeared, and she soon discovered she was just the latest in a long line of victims.

The last series explored a serial fraudster impersonates a member of nobility to con his victims out of thousands. Later in the series there's the dramatic story of twin sisters defrauded by a sinister con artist masquerading as a firefighter.

Also in the first series was a female fraudster who infiltrates marginalised communities in Seattle to steal more than $600,000 from her victims. In the fourth and final episode, female love rat scams Tinder dates out of more than just money.

Love Cheats returns Sunday 30th August at 10:15pm on Channel 4.
