The BAFTA Award-winning documentary series returns to ITV for its 16th series as presenters Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell reunite more family members with their missing loved ones.

Together with a team of trained intermediaries, DNA experts and investigators, Nicky and Davina find people that previously couldn’t be traced and answer questions that have haunted their entire lives.

In the first episode, Avril was 15 when she placed her daughter for adoption in 1964. She has carried the pain of that separation with her since, and now she is dreaming of finally seeing her again.

Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell also investigate the case of Marie, who was raised by her grandparents and has never known her father. As a train conductor, she meets strangers every day and wonders whether they could be related to her. She now yearns for answers.

Long Lost Family returns Thursday 3rd September at 9pm on ITV1.
