Fifty-nine thousand charity runners take to the streets of the capital for the 46th London Marathon, which aims to set a new world record for the most participants in a marathon. They follow the fastest elite men, women and wheelchair racers in the world, running on the same roads and cheered on by the same enthusiastic crowds.

Gabby Logan leads the coverage throughout the day, and she is joined by a team of reporters spread across the 26.2 mile course, including JJ Chalmers, Blue Peter’s Abby Cook, Tim Warwood, and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey. They are on hand to tell the inspirational stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things and raising millions of pounds for some great causes.
Later in the day, live coverage of the London Marathon continues as the 59,000 runners begin to reach the end of their 26.2 mile journey across the capital, each of them with their own unique reason for taking part in this year’s event.
The London Marathon takes place on Sunday 26th April, live on BBC One.
