The Kidnap Of Angel Lynn | Preview (Channel 4)
It was a story that captured the global media. This moving documentary uses exclusive interviews, social media and immersive graphics to tell the devastating tale of a young woman from Leicestershire kidnapped by an abusive ex and left with life-changing injuries.
Angel Lynn was a bubbly, fun-loving 18-year-old when she met her boyfriend through a mutual friend. The Kidnap of Angel Lynn shows how he took over her life, horrifyingly quickly, sending Angel degrading messages, isolating her from friends and family and, ultimately, abducting her.
Forced into the back of a van, Angel Lynn fell from the speeding vehicle and was left on the side of the road with near fatal injuries that made her unable to walk, speak or feed herself.
Through interviews with family and friends, Angel's own videos, CCTV, social media posts and text messages, Angel's life story is retold by giving her back her voice. As Angel learns to live again, despite life-changing injuries, the film sheds a light on how quickly victims' lives can spiral out of control in the hands of an abusive partner.
The Kidnap Of Angel Lynn airs Tuesday 09th May at 9pm on Channel 4.
