Joe & David’s Magical Sitcom Tour | Preview (U&Gold)

Brand-New part travelogue, part buddy comedy and part retrospective, following Joe Wilkinson and David Earl explore their love of classic British sitcoms, with an episode each devoted to The Office, Porridge and Fawlty Towers.

In each episode one of the pair will plan a specially themed and surprising day out for the other, with each taking it in turns. Basing each leg of their Magical Sitcom Tour on The Office, Porridge and Fawlty Towers, they’ll visit filming locations, reenact their favourite iconic moments and hear amazing behind the scenes tales from cast, crew and very special guests.

In the first episode, David takes Joe on the ultimate Porridge adventure. Arranging a series of surprises designed to plunge Joe straight into Ronnie Barker’s world. He guides him through recreated sets, iconic filming locations, and even gains access to the house where Barker lived while making the series.

Joe steps into Fletcher’s boots, runs lines, dons the costume, and gets a taste of life behind the scenes. After experiencing a surreal taxi ride across London with a Ronnie lookalike which gives Joe a ghostly peek into the past, David had pulled off the ultimate fan coup - a meeting with the show's creators in the pub where they met for the first time.

The day wraps with a heartfelt twist – a reunion with Joe’s family, illuminating the reason he’s loved Porridge since childhood. The journey is a love letter to Porridge, packed with laughter, friendship, and comedy history.
