Brand-new series of BAFTA-nominated and award-winning comedy G’wed produced by Golden Path Productions (Roots) including a sneak-peak at the TV return of Brookside legend Jennifer Ellison, who reopens old wounds for beloved character, Aimee, when she enters the scene as her estranged mum, Anna, and turns her world upside down.

The series is set to return with Reece (Dylan Thomas-Smith), Christopher (Jake Kenny-Byrne), Connor (Max Ainsworth), Ted (Dominic Murphy), Mo (Zak Douglas), Aimee (Amber Harrison), Mia-Louise (Gemma Barraclough) and The Brimble (Evie Ward-Drummond) reuniting for a series that’s funnier and bolder than ever. Tackling powerful and thought-provoking themes from the refugee crisis to women in sport and one of the series’ returning characters managing life with OCD.
In the first episode, Reece struggles to navigate Disneyland Darren’s return and clashes with The Brimble. Reece’s life spirals as Disneyland Darren resurfaces, his mum dates Mr Dunn, and being forced to help The Brimble during Refugee Week sparks constant clashes.
Reece wakes from a surreal nightmare to find Disneyland Darren standing in his bedroom after Jodie lets him stay in the spare room. His return sparks tension with Mr Dunn, now dating Jodie, and Darren’s chaos disrupts the household. At school, it’s Refugee Awareness Week led by the woke Brimble. After derailing events with pranks, Reece is forced by headmaster Meachy to help her, but another prank goes too far and publicly humiliates her, leaving him unexpectedly feeling guilty.
Meanwhile, Darren’s jealousy of Dunn spirals into absurd mind games. At Jodie’s 40th birthday party, Darren and Dunn compete for attention with speeches and dance routines. The mood shifts when Jodie takes in two kids after their mum is sectioned, helping Reece realise real care can be helping those closer to home. He later shares this with The Brimble, beginning an unlikely friendship.
