Guy Martin has never wanted to work in HR or be an IT consultant, and he certainly isn't interested in the kind of career where there'll be blue-sky brainstorms in the soft area.

Guy prefers the kind of graft that requires grit and determination – what he calls “Proper Jobs”. They're the sort of demanding professions that are often overlooked, performed by everyday heroes who are taken for granted.
Whether it’s working a mile beneath the North Sea in the UK's last deep mine, joining the RNLI crew at the busy Humber Lifeboat Station near his hometown of Grimsby, learning how to milk dairy cows on a remote island in the Hebrides or getting stuck into the hazardous world of HGV recovery, Guy fully immerses himself by living and working alongside the extraordinary people who do these jobs day in, day out, and finds out whether he could do them too.
In the first episode, Guy Martin joins the crew of an RNLI Lifeboat in his hometown of Grimsby. It's a selfless, demanding job where volunteers put their lives on the line every day. Will Guy learn to love a job far outside of his comfort zone?
Guy Martin's Proper Jobs returns Monday 25th January on U&Dave.
