Hit drama series Granite Harbour returns to Aberdeen as Lindo (Romario Simpson), Bart (Hannah Donaldson) and the Major Investigations Team are drawn into a complex murder investigation that threatens to divide communities and unearth longstanding tensions.

Teenage café worker Lisa Sterling (Jess Douglas-Welsh) disappears into the woods surrounding the prestigious Loughty estate following a birthday celebration for Rose Gough (Ellie Haddington), matriarch of the local traveller community. By morning, Lisa's body is discovered at the bottom of a ravine. What initially appears to be a tragic accident is quickly confirmed as murder.
MacMillan (Dawn Steele) and her team begin to investigate, but they are under more pressure than ever before. Following the fallout from their previous high-profile case, Chief Constable Alan Willis (John Gordon Sinclair) has ordered an investigation by the Special Police Investigations Service (SPIS), creating fresh tensions within the close-knit team.
As the investigation gets underway, attention soon turns to traveller Matty Gough (Bailey Newsome), Rose's grandson and the last person seen with Lisa. With Matty nowhere to be seen following the birthday celebrations, suspicion intensifies which is fuelled by social media speculation and growing anti-traveller sentiment.
With emotions running high between Lisa’s family and the traveller community, traveller liaison officer Alex Nichols (Thoren Ferguson) works alongside the detectives to prevent tensions turning into violence.
As the team dig deeper, they uncover a web of fractured relationships, jealousy and resentment surrounding Lisa's final days. Meanwhile, the arrival of SPIS officer Harper Ross (Amelia Isaac Jones) brings added pressure for Lindo, whose unexpected personal connection to her threatens to blur the line between his professional and personal life.
Just as the team appear to be closing in on answers, a shocking discovery forces them to question everything they thought they knew about Lisa's murder, leaving Lindo and Bart facing a far darker mystery than they first imagined.
Granite Harbour returns Thursday 23rd July on BBC iPlayer and airs Friday 24th July at 8pm on BBC One.
