Nick Knowles, Designer Gabrielle Blackman and the much-loved team will once again be joined by an army of volunteers, trades and local suppliers from across the UK to take on some of their most ambitious and challenging projects yet.

Alongside the purple shirt regulars - electrician Billy Byrne and plasterer Chris Frediani - the team welcomes fresh faces this series: woodworker Radha Siyver and gardener Ashley Edwards, who bring new skills and ideas to the DIY SOS family.

For 26 years and over 240 episodes, DIY SOS has rallied tens of thousands of volunteers. Together, they’ve delivered life-changing home and community transformations across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

This new series puts authentic storytelling and community spirit right at its heart. From Leicester to London, and Swansea to Bracknell, the DIY SOS team will work alongside inspirational families facing extraordinary challenges to create homes that can transform lives.

Episode 1: In Glasgow, Nick and the team help Raymond and his children Kai and Nell after the loss of wife and mum, Gill. Nell, a bright and bubbly preteen who uses a wheelchair, dreams of living more independently, but their home isn’t accessible for her to be independent.

Having given up his job as a plumber to become Nell's full-time carer, Raymond faces an uncertain future. With limited space and complex accessibility challenges, the team set out to create a home that will give Nell greater independence and the whole family renewed hope.

DIY SOS returns Tuesday 22nd September at 8pm on BBC One.
