DIY SOS Children in Need Special | Preview (BBC One)

Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team are joined by BBC Radio 2 presenters for a special collaboration build in Leeds in aid of BBC Children in Need.

Joined by tradespeople and volunteers from across the UK, the team build a new centre for Getaway Girls - a project which supports girls and young women across the city of Leeds, many of whom are facing challenges in their lives.

The special programme shares a collection of stories from girls and young women who have benefitted from the support of Getaway Girls and shows the positive impact of their support. It also follows the trials and tribulations of the team, tradespeople and volunteers.

This year’s Big Build for Children In Need has been done in partnership with BBC Radio 2, and the team has been joined by presenters from the network, including Zoe Ball, Jo Whiley, Sara Cox, DJ Spoony, Trevor Nelson, Rylan and Scott Mills, to build this new centre in just 13 days.

The Getaway Girls’ choir also features in a special moment, with a surprise appearance from singer-songwriter Emeli Sande.

Airs Wednesday 16th November at 9pm on BBC One.
