Sarah Beeny's New Life In The Country | Series 3 Preview (Channel 4)
Britain's favourite property expert is back! Sarah Beeny, husband Graham Swift and their four boys Billy, Charlie, Raffey and Laurie all quit their lives in London to start anew in the country.
Having bought a semi-derelict former dairy farm in Somerset with 220 acres of land, we follow the family as they immerse themselves into everything rural life has to offer and build the house of their dreams - a modern, energy efficient classic English stately home.
Now that the main build has been completed, Sarah and Graham now focus on turning their house into a home, as they transform each room into a space that the family can be proud of.
The new series kicks off with the transformation of a bare concrete shell into a traditional country house library. Inspired by their love of Rise Hall - a Grade II eighteenth-century building they saved and restored in the noughties - they hope to capture the essence of its two-hundred-year-old country house library in a brand-new modern room. But will they be able to pull it off?
Graham has spent months designing the ground floor library. It will be covered from wall-to-wall in bespoke bookcases, with sustainable timber coloured to give it a rich, aged, antique appearance. However, the new library is half the size of the old Rise Hall library, so Sarah creates another reading area to house more books - a cosy book nook on the landing... somewhere for her and the boys to curl up and escape to another world.
After eight painstaking months, Graham's detailed designs are transformed into an historic library, echoing their beloved Rise Hall. They showcase it to the boys who are suitably impressed by its grandeur. And while the boys explore upstairs, Graham reveals what he thinks is the library's best kept secret... a hidden drinks cabinet.
The whole series will be available to stream or download on All 4, for free, following the transmission of this programme on Monday 17th April.
