Animal Park Christmas Special | Preview (BBC One)

In a special week of programmes, Animal Park is returning to enjoy a magical Christmas at Longleat Safari Park.

The keepers are ensuring their creatures are cosy and prepared for the winter, and Ben Fogle and Kate Humble will be there to enjoy every festive moment and joyous tale.

Across the series, we’ll see lots of heart-warming stories. The keepers are worried Harry the Lion won’t be able to eat his Christmas dinner because he has a problem with his teeth. There are also Christmas romances. Including cheetah Rachel who is ready for love. But the men she’s falling for aren’t showing her much interest - will she get her festive kiss under the mistletoe?

Kate and Ben will be helping the animals across the park celebrate the season. They’ll gift Elf the Bongo his very own Christmas pickle and they’ll bring the parrots a present of 5 gold rings.

Joining them will be wildlife cameraman and star of Strictly Come Dancing, Hamza Yassin who will be focussing his zoom lens on the animals to see them closer than ever in the winter sunlight.

Megan McCubbin will also be back, bringing Christmas treats for the animals and providing insights into animal behaviour in the chillier weather.
