24 Hours In A&E | Series 31 Preview (Channel 4)
A new series starts at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, one of the busiest A&E departments in Europe, as staff treat Kaeden, a 16-year-old battling a serious childhood illness.
Kaeden is rushed into Queen's after developing a fever at home. Doctors suspect sepsis, and as they work to find the cause, Kaeden's mum Gemma describes her son's struggle with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Steve is rushed into Resus after the 61-year-old fell from his motorbike at a track race day.
Pat, the former RAF fighter pilot's wife, talks of her husband's lifelong passion to fly jets, and how after his flying career ended, he filled the gap with an adrenaline-fueled hobby.
And 63-year-old Paul has come to A&E after partially amputating his thumb at work. Paul reminisces about growing up in the Midlands and going on strike during the Winter of Discontent in the late 1970s.
24 Hours In A&E returns Monday 10th July on Channel 4.
