NIGHT COPPERS: POLICING SERIES 'AXED' BY CHANNEL 4 AFTER THREE SERIES

Policing series Night Coppers has seemingly been axed by Channel 4 after three series. Channel 4 declined to comment when approached by TV Zone.

The series, which aired its last series in Summer 2025, looked at the characterful cops of the night patrol as they tackle a huge range of incidents – from nightclub fights and drug arrests to the high stake crimes of arson, missing persons and mass brawls in the street.

Ten thousand revellers pack Brighton’s clubs and pubs every weekend, and as the sun goes down and the lights come up, the number of assaults, sexual violence, anti-social behaviour, drug-related incidents and hate crime goes through the roof – and for the Night Coppers of Brighton, policing this city after dark is one hell of a ride.

Night Coppers is as much about the cops as the crimes. Through actuality, CCTV and police bodycam we are shoulder to shoulder with the officers from dusk till dawn, seeing how they handle bloody nightclub bottlings, attempted suicides and sexual assaults and how they can take their toll on the person under the uniform, and how a certain type of black humour is sometimes the only way to get through the night.

Meanwhile, Channel 4 are currently airing new policing series Geordie Cops which follows Newcastle's Neighbourhood Police and their partners as they tackle crime, disorder and the unexpected challenges of keeping the city safe.

In the first episode, consecutive robberies on a busy road have PC Siobhan baffled, but a house search and a warm Big Mac suggest an unlikely suspect. Street ranger and wannabe cop Callum's mettle is tested when he is first on the scene of a street brawl.

Geordie Cops continues Mondays at 10pm on Channel 4.
