The format, originally shown on FOX in the US, sees Gordon Ramsay scour the country for the very best line cooks, home chefs, social media stars, food truck owners and everything in between, all competing against one another with the goal of finding the food world's newest superstar.

Chefs compete for a life-changing $250,000 grand prize and the title of Next Level Chef.

Creativity, consistency and cunning are the recipe for success to make it to the next level, as the competitors adapt to the challenges waiting for them. Each floor holds a new, tougher challenge.

In the US version, which has already been renewed for a second season, chefs Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais join Ramsay as his co-mentors. They each recruit a group of talented chefs and take them under their wings. All three attempt to bring out the very best in their cooks, as they all try to find the one.

In the meantime, Gordon Ramsay is to front brand new BBC One competition Future Food Stars, which begins Thursday 31st March.

Next Level Chef is available on FOX in the US. ITV has not publicly commented on these reports. More details will be revealed in due course.
