Channel 4 have announced the recommission of the hit music quiz PopMaster TV for a further two series - including two celebrity specials. The 20x60' episodes will be produced by Bright Entertainment, part of ITV Studios, and filmed in Glasgow.

Hosted by the legendary Ken Bruce, five contestants go head-to-head to test the depth of their music knowledge over a series of six knockout rounds. The rounds include ‘Intros, Middles and Ends’, ‘Video Gaga’, ‘Pop Years’ and ‘It’s Only Words’, before two players progress to play ‘Original PopMaster’. The winner must then correctly tackle a ‘3 in 10’ if they’re to take home the PopMaster TV gold disc.

Ken Bruce comments, "It's been a joy to see the success of PopMaster TV grow, and I am delighted to be back filming once again. I am very much looking forward to testing the brilliant knowledge of pop music fans everywhere."

Lily Wilson, Managing Director of Bright Entertainment, added, “Ken Bruce and PopMaster are British institutions, so we're incredibly excited to be bringing more episodes to More 4. The series celebrates the best of music with addictive playalong - we can't wait to be back on screen!”

Michael Mannes, Executive Producer said, “I am thrilled to continue the PopMaster TV journey we started a few years back with Ken Bruce and More4. It has proved hugely popular with the audience and we’re looking forward to getting back in the studio”.

Jo Street, Channel 4’s Director of Commissioning, Nations & Regions & Head of Lifestyle said, “With Ken Bruce at the helm, PopMaster continues to feel both timeless and fresh and it has proven itself as a real audience favourite on More4, delivering warmth, nostalgia and genuinely compelling play-along television. We’re thrilled to be bringing it back with new episodes and celebrity specials, building on its strong performance and the huge affection viewers have for the format.”

Transmission details will be announced in due course.
