ITV DRAMA RELEASES LAGGING BEHIND INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTERS

From returning dramas The Bay and DI Ray to new dramas such as Until I Kill You, here's a look at some of the ITV dramas which are currently available internationally but are yet to air in the UK (and in some cases won't for quite a while!).



GRANTCHESTER

Series 9

It’s 1961 and life is good for Will and Geordie. The families are always together, from Sunday lunches to planning summer holidays and with honorary Grandparents Mrs C and Jack, and adopted uncles Daniel and Leonard, it’s one big happy family! But when Will is approached with a life changing offer, can he leave Grantchester, and Geordie behind?



Series 9 is available now in the US and will air on ITV1 in early 2025. A tenth series has also been commissioned, expected to air in 2025 and 2026 in the US and UK respectively.


THE BAY

Series 5

The fifth series sees Marsha Thomason remain as Morecambe MIU’s Family Liaison Officer, DS Jenn Townsend alongside cast regulars Daniel Ryan, Erin Shanagher and Andrew Dowbiggin.


When 23-year-old university student, Hannah, is found dead on the edge of the docks, Morecambe’s MIU team has another case to solve. Jenn, who is returning to work following the death of her father, pushes aside her own grief to support Hannah’s bitterly divided family.



Series 5 is currently available in New Zealand and Canada with no UK broadcast details yet confirmed by ITV.


UNTIL I KILL YOU

Series 1

The extraordinary true story of Delia Balmer, who survived a near-fatal relationship with murderer John Sweeney. Anna Maxwell Martin will take the role of Delia Balmer, whilst renowned actor and director Shaun Evans will play John Sweeney.


Until I Kill You (formerly titled Delia Balmer) is available now in international territories and is expected to air on ITV1 this Autumn.



DI RAY

Series 2

Set in Birmingham, the series, will see Leicester-born DI Ray investigating the murder of a high-profile criminal. Sensitive ethnic issues relating to the case ignite racial tensions, causing a personal conflict for Rachita, both as a British Asian woman and as a police officer, which she must fight to prevent a turf war erupting on the streets of Birmingham…


The first series aired on ITV in 2021, the second expected to air this Autumn. Series 2 has been available in the US since June.



GRACE

Series 4

The critically acclaimed detective drama returns for a fourth series starring John Simm as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace and based on the best-selling novels from globally renowned author Peter James.


The four feature-length films are all set in Brighton - joining John Simm are returning cast members including Richie Campbell (Top Boy, Stephen) as DS Glenn Branson, Zoë Tapper (Liar) as Cleo Morey, Craig Parkinson (Line of Duty) as DS Norman Potting, Laura Elphinstone (Chernobyl) as DS Bella Moy.


Series 4 is available now in international territories, with the series coming soon to ITV1.



McDONALD AND DODDS

Series 4

Each of the three feature-length films features a new murder mystery with the smart and ambitious DCI McDonald and the quietly brilliant DS Dodds working together to crack the cases.


In the first film, a body is found on a morning rush hour bus in Bath and McDonald and Dodds are then sucked into a mystery involving a priceless artefact, the birth of the blues and their own personal history


Series 4 is available now in international territories, with the series coming soon to ITV1.
